Shipping & Refund Policies

When do we ship?

  • Orders are shipped out on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid weekend delays. In the event of extreme weather here in Colorado or your destination, we have the right to delay shipping until there is agreeable weather and will notify the buyer 
  • We will not hold plants for any reason other than weather delays
  • Please allow 48 hours after payment to prepare and arrange shipping. This means if you purchase on Monday night, your plant may not be shipped until the following Monday

How do we ship?

  • Most plants will be shipped bare root in moss unless stated otherwise. Acclimated tissue culture plants will be shipped in planter with stratum and perlite
  • All plants are packaged with polyfil, packing paper, and insulated bubble wrap during winter and summer months. During periods of significant temperature at the delivery destination, below 40F or above 100F, a heat pack or cool pack is required to maintain our Live Arrival Guarantee 
  • We ship via UPS Next Day or 2-Day Air. This minimizes the amount of stress the plant will go through and the time it will take to acclimate to its new home
  • Colorado Residents may select our Flat Rate $5 shipping fee for Ground UPS which delivers within 1-2 days 

Process after shipping

  • Once your item is shipped, you will receive an automated email with tracking information. Please make sure to follow tracking so your plants do not sit outside once they are delivered 
    • If someone cannot be home for delivery, please leave a note for the carrier detailing a shady place where they can place the package to avoid excess heat damage to the plant
  • We are not responsible for any damages due to delays or mishandled packages. If your package is delayed, you must contact the shipping company directly to resolve the issue
  • Please read up on our Live Arrival Guarantee and the terms listed prior to the arrival of your plants!
  • We take care in packaging our plants but shipping can cause yellowing leaves, loss of leaves, broken stems, minor cosmetic damage, bent leaves, minor root damage, etc. This is all normal! We do not offer partial refunds due to minor damage but we can walk you through the process of acclimating your plant to your home to minimize continued damage 
    • This includes fungal spots and minor pests as well. We treat our plants weekly with a systemic insecticide both at the foliar and root level and foliar fungicides but these are live plants and nature happens! Please reach out and we’ll do our best to assist you
  • Prior to shipping, all of our plants are inspected for pests and to ensure a healthy root system

Local Pickup

  • We offer local pickup from two locations, Longmont and Louisville, in Boulder County, Colorado
  • Please email us at hello@eastriverplant.com or reach out to us over facebook messenger or instagram to arrange for pickup and your preferred location
  • We do not hold plants without payment
  • We accept cash as payment via the Cash on Delivery (COD) option at checkout, however we reserve the right to re-list the plant at our discretion if a good faith effort has not been made to arrange a pickup in a timely manner 
  •  Item's claimed via purges, facebook, email, social media direct message, or auctions, are not considered sold until payment has been made
  • Please make a good faith effort to pick up your plant in a timely manner after purchase. We understand that life can be unpredictable and issues larger than plants can arise and we are willing to work with you. However, if the plant is not picked up in a reasonable amount of time and/or if we are unable to get in contact with you to discuss options, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you the full amount minus a 20% restocking fee
  • At the point of pickup it is your responsibility, as the buyer, to carefully inspect that plant as once it has left our possession we will not offer returns, refunds, or change of minds for any reason

Order cancellations

  • All sales are final.
  • Order cancellations are handled on a limited case-by-case basis and are approved solely at our discretion
  • Any cancellation must be submitted within 24 hours of purchase and, if approved, will be subject to a 20% restocking fee

Refunds

  • Although we do our best to ensure every plant that leaves our care is healthy and packaged with love, live plants can be unpredictable and humans can make mistakes. If your plant has arrived in poor condition consistent with the terms in our Live Arrival Guarantee please reach out to us within 1 hour of receiving your shipment and we will work with you to resolve the issue
  • Any issue not immediately reported to us within 1 hour of delivery via email, Facebook, or Instagram will not be refund eligible under any circumstances
  • We are not responsible for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, or incorrectly addressed packages
  • All local pickup sales in Colorado are final. We do not accept any refunds, returns, or replacements after items are received
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable
  • We do not give partial refunds or issue store credits

We sell healthy plants but we cannot guarantee their health once the plant is out of our hands. All plants require different care to keep them happy. Please be knowledgeable of the care requirements for your plant prior to purchasing.
